What is Shellimit?+
Shellimit is an Android parental-control application focused on families where a parent and child share the same phone or tablet.
What does Shared Device mean?+
It means the parent and child use the same Android device. The parent configures Shellimit in Parent Mode, then switches to Child Mode for the handover.
Does the child need a separate phone?+
No. The current Shellimit experience is designed specifically for a shared phone or tablet.
How does Shellimit track screen time?+
Shellimit measures supported app activity while Child Mode tracking is active and shows time spent, time left and the daily limit.
Can parents choose which apps are available?+
Yes. Parents can review user-installed apps and allow or block them for Child Mode.
How does a parent exit Child Mode?+
The parent uses the four-digit Parent PIN created during setup.
Which permissions are required?+
Shellimit guides the parent through Usage Access, Accessibility Protection and Notification & Media Protection. Each supports a different part of tracking or enforcement.
Is Shellimit impossible to bypass?+
No responsible consumer app should promise that. Shellimit is designed to resist common everyday bypass attempts while its required services are enabled.
Does Shellimit currently support location or geofences?+
Not in the current shared-device experience. Location, geofences, remote control and dedicated child-device management are planned for later phases.
Where will Shellimit be available?+
Shellimit is being prepared for Android. Early-access and release information will be shared through the official Shellimit contact channel.
